This is a biography of Mother Cabrini who became America's first and only saint. Born in poverty in an Italy torn by civil dispute and conflict, and from childhood determined to be a missionary, she became a nun when nearly thirty and established her own missionary order. When she was sent to America in 1889 to work among Italian immigrants- she then was launched on her life work, devoted to the neglected and oppressed, establishing schools, orphanages and hospitals. Of interest mainly to Catholics, of all ages, this is written in an intense and poetic style.
