KIRKUS REVIEW

A swell story, first of all, full of action and incident, with a colorful setting and a well-integrated plot. Sixteen year old Chuck, a Mexican brought up in the United States, goes to visit his father in Mexico, and is involved in absorbing adventures. There's a secret bandit hide-out in the Mexican interior, a raid on a village, a surprise ending. Chuck's father is a rural teacher, an unselfish character convincingly portrayed.
