THE EASTER BUNNY THAT OVERSLEPT

Adrienne Adams has done new illustrations, in the model of her old ones, for the 1957 favorite. With one or two exceptions, the compositions are essentially the same--but instead of the buoyant, airy watercolors of the original version, we new have sleeker, more stylized and solidly-colored pictures. The reason for the redo may have been technical, and the story of the tardy Easter bunny who makes his way through the year's holidays unwanted, still has much charm. Nonetheless, anyone with copies of the old version will want to give them extra care.
