THE FOXES by R. F. Harris

THE FOXES

Pub Date: March 10th, 1936
Publisher: Houghton, Mifflin

An ideal gift book for the sporting host -- or hostess -- in a story of southern sporting countryside -- of an impoverished plantation where the owner sells part of his library in order to keep up the tradition of the annual meet. Throughout the story runs the thread of the fate of a litter of foxes, of the hunting country through which they roved, of the hounds and horses round and about. There are, too, bits of folk lore, folk tales, stories of hunting, trapping, cock fights, and all the galaxy of the sporting world of the South. Charmingly handled.
