ADVENTURE NORTH

Routine adventure story of boys. Young Kendall and his friend accompany Mr. Kendall, a mining engineer, on an exploratory trip to Alaska to help establish valuable mineral findings of uranium and related products. A red-haired spy and aides of a foreign power close in and father and party disappear. Trusty scouts, fast-thinking boys, and a bear cub turn the tables, rescue all concerned and help lock up the villains. The young boys emerge as reliable, firm young men that shoot well, camp well, and leap right into a man's world. We'd be the last to underrate the reality or importance of the struggle of the adolescent toward maturity -- but it does come fairly easily in this book with gun and guide.
