A competent but uninspired job -- this biography of the originator of the Scout movement. There is everything in the figure of Baden-Powell to make a glamorous story, but the author, in an insistence on holding, the story within the bounds of cold facts, has given his readers an encyclopedic resumÉ of a life, crammed with adventure and story. Baden-Powell at no moment emerges other than a figure on which the facts are hung. And yet his place in the Scout picture, insures a reasonably wide sale.
