KIRKUS REVIEW

This ranks as adventure rather than mystery, in spite of the publisher's subtitle, for the mystery, such as it is, comes only at the start of the book, and is never wholly developed. In spite of which, it is a first rate tale, well sustained suspense. A football hero finds that he has to prove to himself the possibility of seeing something through, and has all sorts of good luck and bad in the process.
