KIRKUS REVIEW

Teachers of history particularly will be interested in seeing this sequal to The First Frontier (1948) which covers the century of the American colonies from 1664-1765. In time parallels, the activity in various sections of the country is chronicled-always with a trained perspective on the development of a democratic way of life, which expanded the rights presumably granted under the English constitution. Straight overall history with a brisk approach and interest-catching details. Excellent supplementary reading for history classes.
