KIRKUS REVIEW

Authors of 1066 And All That and of And Now All This has turned a rather oblique sort of humor to that royal beast, the horse, and briefly summed up their findings on the subject of buying it, riding it, hunting it, and everything else connected with the subject it would seem. Underlying the utter -- and at times --banal nonsense, one senses that the writers know their subject. Intended for the horsey crowd -- the rider of shank's mare wont know what they are getting out. Pictures by John Reynolds give the key to the text.
