KIRKUS REVIEW

Private Detective"" George Nash takes on his maiden case in 1771 London for Dowager Lady Wroth--who is being blackguarded by a popular quack who treats thrill-seeking clients (among them young Lord Wroth) to the black arts, herbs and not-so-simple sex. The quack is but the first dead duck to die most horribly before Nash tilts with a tawdry toff and the scum rises to the top. Noisy, busy and the talk is period-pat.
