SUSAN AND THE BUTTERBEES

A bewildering little fantasy, as Susan, an only child, is left alone on the beach one day with only a lobsterman and some sandpipers. Then the lobsterman turns out to be the fairy Maud in disguise, and the 47 sandpipers very gay, amusing uncles, who all did a number of nice things. They took Susan to the circus, helped her get the lawn-mower back where it belonged, and found Mrs. Butterbee's gold thimble.
