KIRKUS REVIEW

An odd perspective of the war years, when this ""citizen of the world"" repudiated his only citizenship, Italian, with the coming of Mussolini. A wanderer of romantic temperament, Brewster's life led to Hungary and the adventures of evasions until the end of the war and the Russian advent sent him back to Italy. A minor memoir, but one with its own kind of fascination.
