A book with a distinct spiritual appeal, which might reach a wide conservative market. The setting is Glengarry County, with the hot-headed, theologically minded Scots settlers as a background for the growing up of Jock, the minister's son, who runs away from home. On his return he finds the whole community a changed place, and his father a changed man. A bit dull reading.
