KIRKUS REVIEW

So-so story of the west, rough and unrespectable, of Fritzi who went out there with TB, recovered and opened saloons, gambling and other houses, lined up the town's Judge and Sheriff and cut them in on a handsome business. It is also the story of her seventeen year old daughter, Paula, Paula whom she tries to keep clear of her operations and clientele but who falls, in love with Eddie Benedict, city racketeer. In spite of Fritzi, in spite of Johnny -- Eddie's partner, Paula runs away with Eddie until her realization of his implications in his first wife's death brings her home. No literature, but reads right along.
