AIR AGE MAP OF THE WORLD

By

Publisher: Rand McNally

This sort of thing is time consuming and fascinating to anyone who is interested in maps. It is a polar projection map which helps one understand better such seemingly incredible facts as that Darwin, Australia, is nearer Nome, Alaska, than it is to Los Angeles; that Dakar is nearer St. John, Newfoundland, than Miami, Florida. This map shows why -- with the Arctic Circle as a crossroads, the continents land masses linked by the Arctic Ocean. Air routes which make this an air war, and the future an air peace, are indicated, with comparable routes by ses. The back of the map contains charts of relative distances.
