Part of this material appeared in the Readers' Digest, but the book as a whole covers far more ground than the digest indicated. The author has studied the physiology and psychology of sleep, the material factors contributing to it (bedding, light, holes, surroundings, etc.). And he has offered concrete suggestions as to ways of inducing sleep through diet, exercise, mental control, and so on. To give a human interest to his thesis, he has incorporated suggestions made by over a hundred well known people. The book is semi-humorous, but basically sound.
