BRIDGE FOR BLOOD

.... viz. money--Mr. Young does not play duplicate for honor but rubber bridge for cash and this small book is very good for the reasonably advanced player who is ready to shuck systems and figure odds, assess personalities (partners and opponents) and evaluate hands which does not mean counting points. He should be beyond that and this will help him realize the subtleties of strategic partials, shaded bids and calculated sacrifices. And Mr. Young successfully finesses all the experts who ""reduce the game to arithmetic set in cement."" A sporting, fighting approach.
