PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP by Raymond Abba

PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP

By

Publisher: Oxford

Too often, feels the author, the ""free churches"" allow sentiment and expediency to determine the ordering of their service of worship. He here recalls them to the first principles which should be their proper guide in liturgical practice. Theology and history have an all important bearing on this matter, and the Reversed Mr. Abba, once Congregational teacher and pastor in Australia, now engaged in educational work in England, shows clearly the all-important connection. No emphasizes the ity of the Bible in worship and preaching, surveys the theory and practice of both liturgical and free prayer, and includes an important section on church music as an aid, to worship, and also a means of worship. Protestant ministers especially will find this book helpful in enriching their services by supplying a unity too often, and easily overlooked.
