FIELD BOOK OF NORTH AMERICAN SNAKES by Raymond Ditmars

FIELD BOOK OF NORTH AMERICAN SNAKES

By

Pub Date: Oct. 20th, 1939
Publisher: Doubleday, Doran

The primary raison d'etre seems to be to enable amateurs to identify our commonest and most plentiful snakes, but it also performs the important mission of teaching the layman to recognize the poisonous species at a glance. Mr. Ditmars is well known as the author of many excellent books for the student and this book will be a splendid introduction to them. Keep a list of those who buy this book and suggest the others later on. It should be in every library, every school and every scout troop for many serious accidents could be avoided or successfully treated if victim and doctor knew at once what had struck him. The plates form a valuable aid in this study, which will be a popular addition to the Doubleday Nature Field Books.
