HOW TO RESTORE ANTIQUES by Raymond F. Yates

HOW TO RESTORE ANTIQUES

By

Publisher: Harper

An excellent basic book- but not the final word on any phase of the restoration of antiques. Perhaps in proportion more space is given to clock works than might be expected. There is information on preparing furniture for doing over, with less emphasis on early American and more on mahogany, etc., than usually found; there is a good deal about preparing the under part of upholstery, and not enough on measurements, finishing, etc. But this after all is in other books, where the groundwork is usually skimped. There's a lot of unusual, miscellaneous information which makes it a valuable handbook for any home owner.
