Having hardly gotten over the last two--this is the third Little Ferret in six months--it's back to Harry Adkins, the Bow Street Runner who this time is asked why a young woman has disappeared for good after her elopement at Gretna Green. The search takes him further up into the Highlands, looking for the Lochers of the Glen, whose son is also among those missing (not as guiltlessly). The story seems better by 'arf than the first ones in the series even if practice has not yet made perfect.
