Good escape reading for those who want excitement with their romance. Entertainment, but nothing startlingly unusual. The setting is a border town in New Mexico, and the central theme of the stability of marriage is worked out against a colorful and dramatic background, with a triangle formed of Claire and Jim Mosely, who really love each other, and the Spaniard, Lorenzo de Baca. The title is symbolic:- the fires of passion parallel the fires occurring through the night in the town. Good circulating library material, for both sexes.
