MAGNETS by Raymond Sacks

Pub Date: Nov. 30th, 1967
Publisher: Coward-McCann

Despite overcrowding in the magnetic field you may spot a space just below the Adlers (Magnets, 1966) and beside Branley (Mickey's Magnet) for a pleasantly designed and illustrated introduction to the properties of a magnet. It's the usual sequence of attracting objects (but not all), experimenting with iron filings, and magnetizing another object, with a simple explanation that relates the arrangements of atoms in a magnet to the earth's magnetic field. The text is lucid, the appearance inviting.
