THE OHIO

This River book follows the same pattern as most of the others, starting with description and geology, prehistoric and historic Indians, early explorers, fur traders, settlers, the whole colorful history of the region, and the 20th century efforts to harness the river for transportation purposes and industry. There is, perhaps, greater concentration on the historical aspects than in some of the others. Of regional interest largely- but on a good level of writing.
