Another ballet story, this time a satisfying book of summer dancing camp and the school year on Martha's Vineyard. Janet Sherwood has been studying ballet in New York when her doctor father has to move to the country to continue his practice. Janet finds the local dancing school and the camp, working towards performances -- ""Peter and the Wolf"" and an original dance --making new friends- seeing such famous visitors as Gertrude Lippincott and Pearl Primus- and discovering that modern dance is as exciting a medium as ballet- add up to rewarding experience. once a well-known dancer herself, Regima Woody writes with enthusiasm and authority, and her twelve and thirteen year old girls come alive.
