First published in England in 1939, and a corollary to an earlier book- Studies of Sexual Ethics, this is an attack against the bondage of conventional ""sexual morality"". With a background which draws deeply from many cultures, ancient and modern, oriental and occidental, Guyon contends that chastity is the ""triumph of neurosis"" and a principal cause thereof; that it also leads to crime; that hygiene should be the sole individual limit of sexual activity; that the many taboos, stigmas which militate against sexual freedom should be removed; that feminism is a faulty position since women exist to attract- not compete with men- for as long as they can (they're through at forty); and that in our psychophysiology, or rather M. Guyon's, there is a need for change in most people which is in itself a justification of sexual freedom. In spite of all this evidence, this still skirts the sixty-four dollar question, what happens to the family, to marriage? Practically an aux armes for the mothers of America.
