In the Light Of The Lamb, a stirring book of Paschal meditations, Father Biser, esteemed German writer and member of the Education Council for Religious Studies at Heidelberg, asks for a ""recall of the trail-blazing self-revelation of Christ and of the 'manifold wisdom of God' contained therein"". It is the term Light which is best suited to express the personal effect in us of the victory of Christ in the Resurrection and which gives us the faith to take a stand against the pressures of blind forces. Stressing always the ""joy -- the great joy"" of Easter Eve, the author explores the symbolism of the Paschal images, the Lamb, the Shepherd, and the Victor. He describes the Signs of Easter, the Night Illumined, the Heart of Fire, and the Transfigured Wounds of Christ as ""pointers to the mystery of God"". Finally, he shows the great gifts of the Holy Spirit at Easter are Joy, Peace, and Freedom by which those ""liberated by Christ join together in common service and hand one another the bread of the word and of love"".
