Another packaged threesome — Invitation To Murder: The Zero Clue: This Won't Kill You — brings that rude rotundity, Nero Wolfe, and his capable legman, Archie Goodwin, into cases which involve the murders of three men. A disputed will is the cause of a client's death with Wolfe moving into action to win a bluff: a probability wizard leaves a cryptic clue when he is killed and Wolfe works out the crime it indicates to work over the criminal; four ball players are drugged and the Series in danger but Wolfe's fast brain waves take care of that — and a murder. A comfortable patterning but persuasive.
