The problem of football scholarships seems to be uppermost in the minds of some of the writers of boys' sports stories. This is the third in recent months, (Touchdown Glory, reviewed on P. 396 -- its closest competitor this season). This story has many parallels. A team from a small college with indifferent coaching and natural cooperative team spirit wins against a powerful team. Then the alumni decide to rocket the college to fame. The atmosphere becomes heavy with organization and the fun of the sport for sports sake goes by the board. The star player finally sees the set-up in all its ugliness, the underhand methods used to insure victory. He goes to the President of the college, and proves his point- and sees it cleared up. Good school story- with a purpose.
