GLASS AND GLASSMAKERS

While this basic book on the subject is intended for junior readers, it ought to be brought to the attention of adults interested- either vocationally, or as collectors. For here, in a slim volume is the story of how sand and ashes become the crystalline substance we know as glass. the history is here- from beginnings to the present in modern glass; but in addition there is the use to which glass has been put, practical, artistic, creative and scientific. Once again, the double column format, the small type, and the old-fashioned drawings will deter readers who would be fascinated by the content.
