THE TENNIS BUBBLE by Rich Koster

THE TENNIS BUBBLE

By

Pub Date: Nov. 1st, 1976
Publisher: Quadrangle/New York Times

Quickie profiles of the honchos in tennis, from Lamar Hunt, the ""economy-class millionaire"" whose backing of World Championship Tennis is altering the economics of the game, to Jimmy Connors, whose independent outlook--and irritating demeanor--provide the guts of the sport. Written with considerable pizzazz but no transitions (making the author's slides from business to net technique difficult to fathom), Koster's book fails to do what it says it will, and that is to give readers an inside look at the economics and politics of the game today.
