KIRKUS REVIEW

A New Year's Eve Party -- with death as its aftermath -- brings in CID Heimrich of the New York State Police to query accident versus murder. The weather cooperates as little as do the country guests of the widow -the dead man's protege, a neurologist, a promoter, a most helpful young man and the widow's patient -- and all go a long way to shuffle off the character to fit the crime. Meticulous.
