KIRKUS REVIEW

If you can risk a joke with your doctor (some seem to have taken at least two semesters of study on how never to laugh at anything a patient might say about the healing arts or the cost of cures) try this as a gift. It All Started With... (Columbus, Europe, etc.) all began with Armour and, although often imitated, he's nonpareil at reducing the history of a subject to an irrepressible grin. For instance, Armour says on the matter of cholesterol and the heart (and we believe him), ""The highest incidence of heart attacks is among doctors at medical meetings, where they get into arguments over whether cholesterol is or is not a bad thing."" There's no argument about the book... it's a brand name medicure patented for the author's mass market.
