THE COMPLETE BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO BACKPACKING

By

Pub Date: May 1st, 1975
Publisher: Doubleday

140-odd pages of good advice on first aid, equipment, trail nutrition and good camp manners. Lyttle's planning includes some practical and original ideas--he doesn't go overboard on camp cooking and he suggests foot bags doubling as children's sleeping bags. But this will best serve as a reference or parents' checklist as his point-by-point regimen (when to rest, etc.) isn't geared to encourage beginners.
