MISTER OLE

The background is the puget Sound district; the characters are an Irish immigrant family and a Swedish Jack-of-all-trades who comes, farm hunting and home hunting, with his circus cart, his dog, his monkeys, and his fund of information irresistible to small boys. I liked the story immensely (as I did its predecessor, Skookum and Sandy), but I disliked the pictures so much that it almost spoils the book.
