HAND PUPPETS

Pub Date: Oct. 1st, 1962

Instructions by way of text and diagram and lists of materials needed take the interested amateur from simple ""instant"" puppets made of handkerchiefs, matchboxes, spoons, etc., through the more durable professional variety designed to entertain groups-to the complex novelty puppets which offer a challenge to the accomplished puppeteer. Creative situation and dialogue are encouraged, although three scripts with directions for stage and prop design are also included. Young children, more deeply involved in the world of make believe, will require an intermediary to interpret since the book is written out of their age range. Group workers will find this useful along with older boys and girls interested in putting on productions or simply amusing themselves.
