JUDGMENT IN JULY

The events in after the massacre of Custer center around young Jason Eyle who has to make his fortune mining gold and on Arikara, captive of the Sioux, who are threatening to attack the town. Jason, vividly alerted, heads in from his diggings, becomes infatuated with Marion, who has run away to be a singer, and with the masterful projects of Captain Foster to rouse the miners and inhabitants against the Indians. Jason is deserve the differences and similarities -- between Deadwood's two factions; the power of the mob; and it is he who finally confronts the dedicated Arikara -- to learn that he is now to this fabulous Dakota land. A Westernizing that takes its lesson from the disintegration of democracy and the need for personal participation tells a different kind of tale.
