KIRKUS REVIEW

Not as quietly ingratiating as A Child's Garden of Death (1975), this again features Lyon Wentworth, who writes children's books, and his wife Bea, Connecticut State Senator, both involved in discovering why the aspiring governor of this state was shot. In fact, Bea might be next? Characters with names like Fizz and Whiff and Penny and Boots may lead you to suspect that too much of Lyon's professional activity has rubbed off on him and the case isn't very interesting at that. Ladies first, who next?
