STAND UP AND DIE

Captain Heimrich (not a North in sight) confronted by a murdered nude, a footloose ex-GI, tangled inheritance and the truth that outs in a small, old Westchester town. Virginia's younger sister, Liz, has suffered from the dead girl's sly slander and her share, now doubled, in their grandmother's will adds up against her. Grandmother's death, the doctor, a fiance, Virginia's past and a new drug, as an experiment in death, help Heimrich make the character fit the crime. Thorough and persistent.
