Good reading, this large scale, bright colored mural of Nevada, that is a robust, friendly state history. The panorama is all inclusive, from praise to blame, from geology to personalities from headline notoriety of divorce, gambling, low taxation, to patient determined experimentation; from daring pioneers to modern economic opportunities; from issues to incomes; from local scandals to local heroes, and on and on. There are the dead towns, the prospectors, the mines, there is the Grand Coulee Dam, there are old and new forms of travel; there are ranches, railroads; there is Nevada's long period as a ""colony of the U.S.A."". There's Reno and Las Vegas, Virginia City and Goldfield. There's drought and survival, epics and anecdotes, and all the extremes that distinguish this state.
