Life Long Ago: THE CAVE DWELLERS

An admirable factual text is printed in orange. The story of a boy and his fellow cave dwellers, alternates, and is printed in black. Archaeological conjectures about the use and evolution of cave paintings, tools and ritual customs are woven into the story of a hunt that flushes a mammoth. The book would have more value as straight text. The switch from orange to black is as hard on the eyes as it is on story continuity.
