KIRKUS REVIEW

A military radar installation in a small New York state town makes it prone to incidents of vandalism and violence and finally rape. Police captain Sam Walters who grew up here as one of the undesirables in the eyes of the local gentry stalks the offender and has his own residual bitterness to resolve as well as the case which triggers more than one unpleasant episode...A story which relies on the original situation to shock the reader to attention- but doesn't always retain it.
