The third and, as nearly as one can remember, most rabid of Neely's shockers which display so much muscle, both kinds, that he makes Mickey Spillane seem like a parvenu. This one begins when Johnny Sexton comes back from the wars to try and get some money from his rich and hated father who has disposed (in more ways than one) of his gentle and loved mother and now has acquired Lucille, young and blonde, whom Johnny appropriates. Much, much more, happens and by the close Neely has switched killers faster than you can change your mind. It has the low, venal hook of sex and violence and you can color them both fuchsia.
