THE CORDER INDEX

The Corder index (this is all part of that non-scholarly apparatus known as espionage--remember files and memos) lists the members of an industrial-espionage system operating out of Germany and author Raine secures it--in order to write a book about it. At his request, David Martini, an operative, tries to keep Raine alive and the Index from being expropriated on a direct circuit from London to Frankfurt to Copenhagen. Easier to read than it is to follow, or for that matter, distinguish from others in this portfolio.
