TINY IN THE BAY: Henry Hudson's Last Voyage

Using the journal of Habakuk Pritchett who sailed with Henry Hudson in 1610, the author attempts to recreate the rugged voyage of the Discovery. The search for the Northwest Passage to China was a arduous grueling affair which ended in utiny and the abandonment of Captain Hudson and other members of the crew. Had the material been organized and sorted more carefully, and not confused with abundant fictionalization, it might have made an exciting story. However, the narrative of the journey is tedious, and the reader is lucky if he can sort out events and characters which seem to tumble and stumble over one another.
