KIRKUS REVIEW

Shell Scott never had it so good. Here he is decked out as a Maharaja at the opening of club Kubla Khan, the newest Arabian Nights size addition to Southern California's dreamland. Plus he's a judge at a beauty contest which features 35 of the nation's finest resplendent in harem costume. Of course Shell is on the scene to solve a double murder but that doesn't keep him from occasionally laying down on the job. It's Rogueish, bawdy burlesque and occasionally hilarious.
