KIRKUS REVIEW

Pregnancy preponderating, with detailed clinicalities, as Westchester obstetrician Merritt becomes the nub of a quadruple-murder, which detective Daniel Webster sleuths from California to New York. Murder during a Caesarian section precedes three less spectacular killings and Merritt, holding the key, saves himself by poisoning murderer. Lots of moompix characters, with entertaining writing.
