KIRKUS REVIEW

There is a great deal of charm in this low-priced story of a powerful hippo and a mechanical rabbit. The two creatures come to a new town and it is only a matter of seconds before they are winning friends with their skills and willingness to help. The author's illustrations, both in color and black and white, evoke a childhood world in which even the most pedestrian object becomes imbued with a delightfully harmonious and whimsical quality.
