THE DAMSEL

A moderately interesting assassination tale with an emphasis on the boy-girl relationship between the damsel, one Ellen Marie Fitzgerald, heroine extraordinaire who plans to prevent the whole thing, and Grofield, sometime actor, sometime thief who is unwittingly reforming. General Guerro of South America is the target with Governor Luke Harrison of Pennsylvania as possible intriguer. The plot is bolstered by the fact that the General and the Governor have exchanged sons but it's no more than a momentary escape-ade.
