GUADALCANAL DIARY

A considerably abridged version of the book Tregaskis had published in 1942 covers the main events of the island siege and has been changed slightly with the addition of first and last chapters to relate the siege with the other Pacific theatre action in WWII. This is helpful reference material, but as we noted in our original report, the account had an air of unreality which we hope isn't enhanced by the cutting of material here. Perhaps the original still measures up as better reading.
